Chatmeter was founded by Collin Holmes in 2009 as a solution to local search marketing. What started as monthly email reports aimed to help small businesses, has grown to a full-blown all-in-one local SEO software for multi-location brands and agencies. Chatmeter has been a leader in all things local since its inception, from listing management to online reputation, to social media and so much more, we’re proud to be partnering with some of the largest enterprise brands and agencies in North America.

Founder & CEO
Our Founder and CEO, Collin Holmes, created the concept of Chatmeter.
First product launches – it’s only email, no dashboard!
We started working with more agencies and enterprise brands.
Our Development team, including our CTO Paul Koch joins Chatmeter and establishes an in-house engineering team.
Hired on a small sales team, including our SVP of Sales Lee Auerbach, who showed the team how to close some big deals.
We relaunched our dashboard to include Rankings, Media, and Chatter.
We added Listing Management services to our platform.
Established a Yelp Knowledge Partnership
We added in-dashboard responding to Facebook and Google.
Social publishing was added to the dashboard.
Pulse Launches! This AI tool helped us to really stand out from the competition.
Chatmania! We celebrated our success as a company with a Yacht party! Our company culture grew as we added cross-functional teams and weekly Thursday lunches.
Channing Tatum breaks our dashboard! (A customer wanted to follow Channing Tatum hashtags and the amount of traffic caused the dashboard to crash – temporarily)
We have grown to a team of about 40 people by now, so we moved to our current headquarters at 225 Broadway in Downtown San Diego.
We relaunched our Local Brand Visibility score to give brands a better picture of their local online visibility.
We extended our Yelp partnership to include listings.
We update our dashboard to adapt to new Facebook Recommendations.
Our new and improved Workflow tool launches – Chatmeter is now a workstation instead of just an analytics platform.
We hit some major milestones! Celebrated with Chatmania 2.0! We needed a bigger boat – company grew to over 70 employees.
We expanded our Local Pages offering in order to give our customers more control over their local information.
Providence Strategic Growth invests in Chatmeter to fuel strategic growth in market leadership and tech innovation.
Chatmeter’s Social Suite gets a face-lift and now supports Google Q&A monitoring, answering, and publishing.
Chatmeter introduces Analytics Studio. Our new reporting tool helps brands analyze, visualize, and interpret data based on their business needs.
Pulse Gets Smarter
We rebuilt our text and sentiment analysis engine. It now has an industry-leading NLP accuracy score of 88%!
